Grill And Job

What a beautiful Father's Day here in Tremonton, Utah.  We spent the afternoon with Jared grilling hamburgers on the grill before Jared had to leave for work.  Luckily, Jared got to nap for a couple of hours after our church let out because he is battling a sinus infection and really needs rest.

We got some news on Jared's job promotion.  This last week the corporate office told the Tremonton office manager (he is our bishop as well) that they wanted more applicants to choose from than just the 2 that applied so they want the job to be opened up to the general public.  This feels like somewhat of a blow to Jared and he is quite disheartened and feels like his faith in the Lord is a bit wobbly.  I trust the Lord and feel like we are in His hands completely.  I have spent so much of my life not trusting the Lord that I don't want to go back to that ugly place.  If we don't get the job, then the Lord has another path for us.  If Jared doesn't get this promotion it will definately drive us to look at other employment options.  MOM Brands (aka Malt O-Meal) wants to put people with technical degrees in the job that Jared applied for and Jared does not have that.  Jared needs all of the prayers he can get, and not that he will get the job, but that he will learn the lessons he needs to learn in this experience and that his faith in the Lord will increase, not decrease.

I've wondered why some men have such a hard time having faith regarding their employment. Maybe remind him that when the Lord gives a commandment (husbands are to provide for their family) He also provides a way. (1 Ne. 3:7) Press forward with steadfast faith. Our prayers are with you.

The disappointment with hopeful job opportunities that don't work out is hard for some time, but it will work out how it's supposed to.
Glad you had a nice Father's Day.
